The Year of the Spark

In January of 2015, I began a year-long journey with Carla Sonheim and Lynn Whipple in The Year of the Spark. It has been an incredible experience for me as a new artist. I have learned so many new techniques, but more importantly, I’ve learned about myself. Every class (2 per month) taught me a little more – about being bold, being brave and taking risks. I was joined in this journey by many talented and generous artists from around the world. All of whom I would call my friends. And, Carla and Lynn are two of the most generous and fun instructors I have every had. They and the Year of the Spark Facebook group gave me the courage to fly, and to start this blog. I hope that you enjoy my adventures in mixed media as much as I am. The image above is a self portrait in the style of Modigliani. The crow on my shoulder is somewhat of a signature in a lot of my art.
